Design

The Huawei MediaPad M5 looks and feels very similar to the Apple iPad Air. It's thin and light, with a metallic body that feels solid in your hand. The tablet has a fingerprint sensor on its backside for quick authentication of purchases or other secure tasks like unlocking your device using Face ID when you're using an Apple device with Touch ID.

The tablet also comes with USB Type-C port (a new version of MicroUSB) instead of headphone jack so you'll need to plug in headphones via Bluetooth if you want to listen while charging up at night. If this sounds like something that would make more sense on a premium smartphone than an affordable Android tablet—and we think it does—it may be worth taking into consideration when thinking about which one might suit your needs better.

Display

The Huawei MediaPad M5 has a 10.8 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. This makes it one of the highest resolution displays available in any tablet today and you will be able to see your work clearly without any problems when using this device for long periods of time.

It's also worth mentioning that there are no issues with color accuracy here, which means you'll enjoy viewing content on this device without having to worry about whether or not it looks right or not when compared against other devices like Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 (10).

Camera

The MediaPad M5 has a 12MP camera. That’s not bad, but it doesn’t have any special features that make it stand out from the crowd. The front-facing 5MP camera is very good for taking selfies and video calls, but don't expect miracles in low light situations.

The main benefit of having a good phone camera is that you can take quality photos of things nearby without needing to zoom in or get too close—which makes them great for capturing moments when you're walking around town or at home with your family and friends.

Battery life and charging

The Huawei MediaPad M5 has a large battery that can last up to 15 hours of video playback. It supports fast charging and will charge much faster than most smartphones, so you're not waiting around for your phone to charge. You'll need to plug it into a wall or computer USB port (or use the included cable), but this process should take about 2 hours—that's what it takes for me when I use my own wireless charging pad.

The only caveat is that you need to be careful with how much power is drawn from the device while charging; if you leave it plugged in too long during one session and then unplug for another, battery life may suffer as a result.

Sound quality

The Huawei MediaPad M5 has an impressive sound quality, with the speakers located on top of the tablet. You'll be able to enjoy movies and games in loud and clear audio without any distortion or interference.

The built-in Dolby Atmos technology lets you hear more details than ever before, giving you an immersive experience as if there were no limits at all.

Processor and storage

The Huawei MediaPad M5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which is the same chip used in the Google Pixel 3 XL. That means it's powerful and can handle any task you throw at it. It has 6GB of RAM, so everything runs smoothly even if there are multiple apps open at once.

The storage options for this tablet are 64GB or 128GB of internal memory—but that's not enough for most people who use their tablets on a regular basis (I know I do). If you want more space than what comes standard with your device, you'll need to buy an expandable microSD card like the ones we carry here at Best Buy! You can also opt for one of our other models with better specs or different features like higher resolution screens or longer battery life.

Software and special features

Huawei's EMUI Android skin is the software that powers the MediaPad M5. It's a very customizable interface, with a lot of options for fine-tuning your device and keeping it running smoothly. You can change wallpapers, themes and colors; add different browsers (like Chrome); set up shortcuts on the home screen; or even customize gestures to launch certain apps or actions when you swipe up from the bottom edge of your phone screen.

The other big feature here is Google Play Store access—you get access to all of Google's apps and services at no extra cost! This means you can download any app from their online store onto your handset (or tablet) without having to pay any additional fees if they're already included within another device’s operating system.

Takeaway

The Huawei MediaPad M5 is a great, portable Android tablet. It's easy to use, has a long battery life, and has an excellent camera.

It has an 8MP front facing camera with autofocus for taking photos and videos. You can also take high resolution photos or record 4K videos with the rear facing camera that comes in at 16MP (with optical image stabilization). This makes it possible for you to create some great shots when traveling or just hanging out on your couch watching movies!

The Huawei MediaPad M5 features an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor paired with 4GB RAM which gives it plenty of speed while running any applications you might want on your new device such as games or streaming services like Netflix or Hulu Plus which require lots of processing power so this combination will definitely meet all your needs without any issues whatsoever.

Conclusion

Overall, the Huawei MediaPad M5 is a great tablet. It has a high-quality display, fast processor, and excellent battery life. The only downside of this device is its price which may be too high for some people. If you can afford it then I highly recommend getting one for yourself!
